Coffeehouse

Coffeehouse is PFY’s longest-running program, providing a safe and substance-free environment where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ+) youth and allies can come together every Friday night from 7 pm to 11:30 pm to make friends and have fun.
Each Friday there is a different activity, ranging from guest speakers and performers to drag nights and talent shows. Coffeehouse is strictly a youth-only space, open to youth ages 13 to 20. There is free and confidential HIV/Syphilis testing available every Friday night.
No person over 20 years old who is not staff is permitted in the Coffeehouse space during programming to respect confidentiality. There is always a professional counselor available for drop-in counseling, which is free and confidential.
If you are new to Coffeehouse, you MUST go through a brief orientation called “New Person Orientation Program” (NPOP) to familiarize you with PFY and its staff. NPOP is offered every Friday beginning at 8pm, so please arrive a little beforehand on your first night.
Transportation: PFY reimburses all train and bus travel to PFY sites for services. Please bring valid paper or digital receipt. (Nassau Only) Van Service is available on a first-come basis for FREE. Calls for van service begin at 4pm (Hempstead, Uniondale, Roosevelt, Westbury, Baldwin, Freeport) and 4:30pm (anywhere else in Nassau County, south of the Long Island Expressway).
